The Latin word Imperator was originally a title roughly equivalent to commander under the Roman Republic. Later it became a part of the titulature of the Roman Emperors as part of their cognomen. The English word emperor derives from imperator via Old French Empereur. The Roman emperors themselves generally based their authority on multiple titles and positions, rather than preferring any single title. Nevertheless, Imperator was used relatively consistently as an element of a Roman ruler's title throughout the principate (derived from princeps, from which prince in English is derived) and the dominate. This group will serve as the supreme governing body for:

  • The 1st Legatus Legionis to The 13th Legion
  • The Brotherhood of One
  • The Roman Republic- SPQR
  • Imperial Rome- The Eternal City
  • Legio XIII Gemina
  • Vulcan's Workshop
  • Office of the Aedile
  • The Praetorium
  • Roman Legion Auxiliary Command Headquarters

I also use this group to search out enemies of Rome. I will often challenge them to single combat with these parameters: 3-day move, 1 game at a time, <1270 (I'll only play 150 pts above my current rating).  We are a branch of The 13th Legion.
