"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." - Romans 1:16-17
Trust in Jesus Christ and he will clear you of all guilt and you will be justified before God when you are set before him in HIS court on judgement day.
God sent his son (Jesus) who was perfect, into the world to die for all men. The bible tells us "without the shedding of blood is no remission" - Heb 9:22, so Christ became that sacrifice willingly becasue he so loved the world! He shed his blood and payed the debt all men owe to God for committing crimes against his laws. So now, all we must do is put our faith in Jesus and our debt will be payed, and we will be found just before God. No works are accounted as anything because Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me", So, the only way to get to heaven is through Christ, and not our own merits! "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." - Romans 4:5 So we can only be made righteous through FAITH.
