As explained in part two, Vishy Anand's influence over the growth of chess in India was tremendous. Even as a mere "candidate" in the 90's, long before winning the title over a decade later, he was seen as a national hero, and an entire generation flocked to the game because of him. His chess moves weren't so bad either of course, with calculation skills comparable only to the likes of Fischer and Kasparov.
