Duckable

The idea behind Duckable Chess Course is to approach my chess improvement as the process of building my own chess course, tailor made exactly for me. I’m the student that needs to take this course in order to become a better player. I need to rigorously review my games to identify my most critical weaknesses and vulnerabilities, because not only am I the student of the course, I’m also the coach that’s in charge of crafting what should be in the course.

This requires analyzing chess in a systematic way. Not just reviewing games looking for improvements one move at a time, but searching for recurring patterns and discovering the underlying mechanisms at play. It’s not enough to know the mistake you’ve made. More important is the question: Why? What’s the reason you missed something?

Club
The objective of this club is to bring together players that are serious about improving their chess, analyzing their games and deepening their understanding of the game. Our focus is on areas of chess like: game analysis, performance monitoring, structural improvement, chess fundamentals and principles.

There won’t be any events and social activities, like team matches and vote chess. The main purpose of this club is to function as a platform for players to have engaging interactions and a productive collaboration. For that reason only a handful of carefully selected players will be admitted and this will remain a small club.

Opening the Doors
The club is still closed for other players and might remain closed for a while. For the time being, I’m using the club as a personal testing ground where I can run some experiments around content and layout. There’s also some forum functionality I want to try out. The exact moment the club will be open for new members is unclear.

Currently, I’m not accepting new members. If you send me a join request I will keep you in consideration for a later time. Be aware that it’s not my ambition to grow this club, I’m only looking for players that fit. The profile would be players with similar goals that can relate to this approach, probably rated between 1200 and 1800 (roughly). Players looking for constructive and civil communication. I'm also expecting spelling, grammar, capitalization and interpunction to be better than that of a cat walking on a keyboard.
